Sea of Thieves Season 11 Brings Major Overhaul With Fast-Travel Feature

The multiplayer pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves is getting a humongous update on January 23, 2024, introducing a much-needed fast travel system and more.

In a content update video posted by the developers, we learned that there are big things coming to Sea of Thieves in just a few more days. One of the key features being introduced is the fast-travel feature that allows a pirate and their crew to voyage out by using the updated Quest Table.

Once players have selected a voyage from their Quest Table, they will be able to choose whether or not they want to sail the high seas to their destination or travel there instantly by disappearing beneath the water for a mere moment and ascending back up at their destination.

Though this seems like it would take most of what we know from Sea of Thieves completely out of the game, which would be the sailing part, the devs didn’t make this a cure-all by anymeans. Loot can be lost by diving deep within the depths in order to fast travel, so those choosing to use the new feature will still need to drop off their treasure at an outpost prior to using it if they’d like to keep all of their rewards.

As if the fast travel feature wasn’t already a major implementation, there will also be Raid Voyages available on the quest table, which means all world events can be fast-traveled to rather than sailed to if players so choose.

There are plenty more features and fixes to check out, which the video does a great job of showcasing. Check it out in the embed below.
