Sea of Thieves Outlines 7th Anniversary Celebrations, Content Update, and Specials in March

Sea of Thieves will mark its 7th anniversary this month, part of a slate of March activities, gifts, sales and special releases.

The anniversary celebration starts on Friday, March 14th with the release of a “Happy Birthday” sea shanty. That's right, the team is making it official with a rendition of the traditional birthday song made for the high seas and which will go live on streaming services on that day. Also on Friday, March 14th, Xbox players can access some new animated dynamic backgrounds for their consoles. On March 20th, the Sea of Thieves anniversary date,  Microsoft Solitaire gets a SoT theme, including a backdrop and custom card backs. 

The big anniversary event will run from March 14th  through March 22nd, offering a series of community goals that are inspired by a number of memorable moments from Sea of Thieves history. Join up with the rest of the community to work on these goals together and hit the targets to unlock a number of rewards. The rewards will commemorate encounters, features,  discoveries, and milestones.

The Season 15 Community weekend will be March 22nd through the 24th, so all the usual Community Weekend features are on the way including free items, picture walls for photos, and bonuses. Season 15 continues rolling on with the monthly update on March 27th. This will add the next wave of features, including the hunting spear, and new creatures.

From March 17th- March 24th, there will be a special anniversary sale in the Pirate Emporium. The anniversary sale is coming to offer a bunch of items at sale prices. Something you've had your eye on, or you want to surprise yourself, the shop will be stopped with specials during that week. On the 17th, Microsoft will also offer a 7th anniversary sweatshirt for those who want their swag wearable.
