There's a new update dev blog about the most recent changes and events going on in Scavengers. The most notable is that the console closed alpha has begun and will be always-on for those on Xbox or PlayStation. A peek at some of the additional changes coming, as well as community feedback requests, give us a peek at what we can soon expect to see from the team as they continue development on this cross-platform title.

There are other updates in the works for the game, including a new way to preview emotes, a Bait Bomb, some minor work on weapon tuning, and bug fixes. Another important design element that is coming in a future update is new controller preset keybindings and key mapping.

If consoles are more your thing, then Scavengers opening up access is something you should check out. Registration is open but because this is an unfinished test environment, you'll need to get keys. If you're interested, there will be keys issued in waves on a rolling basis. If you're 18 and older and on Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, or PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, then you're eligible to apply to test and give feedback on the console versions. The Americas and Europe will get the first batches of keys and testers in Asia will still get access, but this may take some extra time.

Console closed alpha will feature most of what's on the PC Early Access build, like Expedition and Horde modes. Mutator and other limited events as well. The main exception to console access is that ScavLab events are currently PC only. Console alpha will not have an account wipe either, so you won't lose any progress. Cross-play will be on by default, but you can turn it off if you'd rather face only console players. For the full peek at current developments, check out the announcement post.
