Russian Version Teetering on the Brink of Destruction Says Community

The Russian version of Revelation Online is teetering on the brink of destruction according to the community of players that have created an extensive post on the game's official site. The thread details a number of things that are lacking, or that are being completely ignored in the Mail.ru-published title.

The most pressing concern is the lack of communication between the developers and the community as well as a large number of technical issue affecting the game that make it nearly unplayable on the best of days. For instance, the servers have been plagued with huge lag spikes. Of the three servers, one was fixed after 4 months, another after 8 months and the final server still remains unpatched.

Another major issue centers on massive FPS drops to 10-15 FPS during PvP combat. Players discovered that the issue was being caused by the localized Russian sound files. Simply toggling them off in the configuration text file solved the issue almost completely. This fix, or the discovery itself, was sent to Mail.ru with no subsequent patch.

As a result of the many problems facing Revelation Online, the community of players has made a respectful, but strongly worded, list of demands of the company that they hope will begin to repair the damage. As a first step, they have asked guild members and other community representatives to stop making microtransaction purchases, fully understanding it won't directly affect Mail.ru's bottom line, but more as a symbolic gesture to garner attention.

Here is the list of what players would like to see:

  1. Optimization of the game client
  2. Translation of the remaining Chinese & English text in the game
  3. Adequate work with the gaming community that stopped in Summer 2017
  4. Explain why promises have remained unfulfilled such as the PvP system, the Guild System and so forth
  5. Detailed patch notes for larger updates and hotfixes starting with the recent Blade in the Night upddate
  6. Adequate PTR testing of upcoming patches including error fixes before deployment to live servers
  7. More guild related news posted to the official site including event results, major battles, etc.
  8. Server merges after player polling
  9. Organize events similar to those found in the EU and CH versions
  10. Publication of a development roadmap

Should Mail.ru continue its silence on the list presented, the united guilds have indicated they will leave the game, a move they believe will reduce the community by 80-90%.

Whether Mail.ru's silence means the end is coming for Revelation Online remains to be seen. The community has asked the company to respond by November 27th, so we'll keep you posted!
