In a reversal of opinion, Trion Worlds announced that players operating/running a blockade by any means in ArcheAge will be banned. Read on for the official wording.
As our friend Connor at MMOFallout first pointed out, ArcheAge has taken to their forums to issue a new set of rules when it comes to player-made trade route blockades. Community Manager Seraphina Brennan posted what doing so will now mean to players as of today, October 23rd:
...users may no longer set up roadblocks/blockades anywhere in the game via any means (vehicle, ships, avocados, or otherwise.) In addition, we’d like to reinforce that users may not use their vehicles, ships, bodies, or another means to block someone from planting on their private land, interactable items, or from blocking NPCs in such a way that they cannot be interacted with. Leading up to October 23rd, users who create blockades will receive a warning, and will have their blockades despawned. After the 23rd, users who initiate blockades may receive temporary or permanent account bans for repeated abuse.
You can read their full take on the issue over at the official forums.
It seems this was all in response to long conversations within Trion and a poll of the users of ArcheAge that overwhelmingly showed players in support of taking action against the perpetrators.
What do you think of all the hullaballoo?
