RuneScape will launch the Sanctum of Rebirth Boss Dungeon on July 22nd, with new tasks before the dungeon launches.
Jagex has been working with the community through beta testing and consultation to finalize the new feature, and now it has a release date. On July 15th, RuneScape will get some new Underworld Hard and Elite Area tasks to prepare everyone for the game’s first-ever boss dungeon. So what can we expect in this boss dungeon? The team is not saying much and this is intentional.
“We’re trying something a little different with this update by backing off on the tell-all approach we usually take near release” They tried this new communication strategy, they emphasize the “magic in that discovery of a day one update” and promise more details on release day.
We do know some details, since the boss dungeon was announced as simply a challenge where you face three bosses with no mobs, no exploration, just bosses. The team also sought feedback on loot and on a new death mechanic, where death doesn’t mean you’re out. After beta and feedback, in Normal mode you will be resurrected on the spot with Resurrection Sickness, which means significantly reduced damage output until you shake it. This death mechanic is one way that the team is looking to design challenging mechanics but also making these features accessible to all levels of players
In Hard mode, you'll have an increased chance at finding the best rewards including the new T95 Dual Wield Magic Weapons. There are also some exclusive drops that you only have a chance at on Hard.
As for those bosses? They are “Amascut’s powerful soul devourers; Vermyx, Kezalam, and REDACTED”. Hmm.
The dungeon will launch on July 22nd and those new challenges will be here next Monday.
