RuneScape’s Combat Mastery Achievements are live with today’s update. The team recently previewed the system and now it's ready for you to go explore as you take on challenges in Gielinor.

You need a refresher, there are six tiers of achievements to pursue. Whether you choose Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite or think you can handle Master and Grandmaster, you can take them on in any order.  It’s a new way for the team to introduce rewards for things you're probably doing anyway, as well as some new cosmetics in the form of exclusive amulets and auras, and other rewards like bonuses. Today's launch announcement also includes an overview and a visual getting started guide from a community member, Kravy.

In the patch notes, we also see that they have updated Meta  achievement requirements with tooltips showing the descriptions, as well as updated existing combat achievements with eligibility and failure messaging. Existing combat achievements will also not pop in practice or story mode encounters. This is about PvM competition with yourself.

To celebrate and as another incentive to taking on some of those challenges that could get you new achievements, or even trying to best your own times once you get started, Double XP is returning on Friday. Once again, you have 48 hours of Double XP to use during the 10-day event. The event will run until Monday, March 3rd, and the last couple of days will also coincide with the celebration of RuneFest.

To turn things up even more, the RuneScape team has introduced a couple of optional new double XP bundles that anyone, except for Ironman accounts, can use. The bundles each cost one Bond and they can benefit you in different ways.
