RuneScape is the home of capes. Lots of capes. It’s a thing, and if you know, you know. Recently, Jagex announced there would be some changes and adjustments on how to earn Completionist Capes. Today, a number of them go live.
To be clear, as usual, the community weighed in on the initial proposals to earning Completionist Capes, so the list of the changes going live today includes some adjustments the team made based on that community feedback. There are additional polls that will run until May 7th, with a few more questions to continue refining this process.
The changes in today’s patch add some requirements to the Completionist Cape and Trimmed Completionist Cape, Including both adding some new requirements, including some based on newer content, and removing some requirements as well, all to keep things relevant. Some of the new options include Power Planter II, which you can earn in the Garden of Kharid, and 'Sort of Crystally', which is unlocked by getting titles from Prifddinas.
Taking part in the new mini-quest, Unwelcome Guests, will earn you one quest point and is a new requirement for the Quest Cape. The mini-quest opened last week, adding an invasion of the undead to tackle, heading in from the Wilderness towards Fort Forthinry. The Raptor, the new Slayer master, has arrived, and there are four brand new Slayer creatures to take on.
With the event participation high, Jagex has decided to make the spawns of phantoms and ghosts instanced until May 10th to make sure that there are enough to go around during the initial weeks after launch.
This week's patch also corrects a few issues, adds items, and ensures that the jiggling crate of kittens near Gertrude in Varrock is actually where it's supposed to be during Gertrude’s Cat quest.
These and other important changes, including every Completionist Cape tweak this week, are in the full patch notes over at RuneScape.
