RuneScape has just revealed a detailed roadmap for the next year (and beyond). Expect the brand new Skilling boss,  new events, Group Ironman, a  brand new story quest, additional Skilling updates, new abilities,  and even a new combat boss (Amascut!) and story quest next summer.

The reveals were made in the first ever RuneScape Ahead stream, and the content will begin rolling out very soon. This fall, expect the second Skilling boss, Gate of Elidinis, along with a launch event, Gate of Elidinis Hunt, and new story quest, Ode of the Devourer. Take on the  new boss sometime in September.

Finally, Group Ironman is on the way. If you  and a few other friends want to start a RuneScape adventure together,  now's your chance.  you can't benefit from assistance outside your group, so you're all in it together. Jagex announced that they will be adding some new features including  cosmetic armor, and even some milestone capes. We can expect this around late October or early November.

Harvest Hollow Arrives in October, bringing the Five Horsemen setting up camp in the land of Harvest. You can join one of the five factions, or even challenge yourself to the maize maze.  this is one of RuneScape’s slate of expanded seasonal events. There will be a new quest, seasonal activities, and  of course, rewards. This fall, Necromancy will also get a brand new conjure, Phantom Guardian and there will be a new Necromancy Slayer Helm upgrade, and new Slayer monster.

Winter will bring the next Skilling updates and level cap of 110 for woodcutting, fletching, and runecrafting. There will also be new combat Mastery achievements. Desert Quest I  is the new story quest in winter, and we’re headed back into the heat and sand. Later in winter, Desert Quest II  arrives. It also wouldn't be winter without Christmas Village, which returns  with new surprises for 2024.

We also get a few looks at 2025, with a level cap increase for crafting and an overall Skilling rebalance, along with the Blooming Burrow seasonal event.

Sometime in mid 2025, prepare to face Amascut, the Devourer, in a new boss encounter, accompanied by a story quest. To give another hint, the team is internally referring to that quest as ”The Desert Finale”.  This will all be big.  And, in late 2025, the roadmap  reveals that there will be a new area expansion.  Start guessing now.
