RuneScape has revealed its next mysterious quest, Murder on the Border, which is a continuation of the newest chapter following Fort Forthinry.
If you haven’t set up your fort, it's a good time to get that started for a number of reasons. The first reason is the bonuses you can get by using the new feature, building your fort, learning Construction, and upgrading your buildings over time. This will lead to even better bonuses.
More recently, Jagex opened the game's newest, super-sized 70-task Yak Track. This track not only features those 70 tasks to complete, but has prerequisites that involve building your fort, so once again, it’s a good time to get started on that if you haven’t. This event will run for an extended time, through May 15th.
Murder on the Border has only hints at this time, since the team is currently working on ideas for the March Game Jam. Yet, along with the Yak Track, there have been hints of celebrating classic RuneScape along with the new, so the description works with that.
“This one is an homage to classic RuneScape quests, with a spicy whodunnit twist! Start honing those detective skills folks, because this juicy crime caper will be making its way to a fort near you onMarch 20th. You’ll also need to have set up at Fort Forinthry and built a Tier 1 Workshop, Chapel, Command Centre and Town Hall.”
You’ll have until March 20th to get all of that sorted, and there's time before we'll know anything more about the mystery event itself. This is the promised chapter from the 2023 roadmap back in December. “As if the usual political machinations of the Kingdom's elite weren't enough, the evening takes a sinister turn when one of the nobles is murdered at the banquet table! The gates are barred for the night; no one may leave or enter. Can you and your wannabe-detective butler identify the murderer before dawn breaks?”
