The RuneScape team has put through its promised change that raises the trade max cash limit and the first Community Hitlist improvement patch.
The big part of today's update is the max cash limit increase. You'll be able to carry and trade up to 2.147 quintillion gold. This is up from a 2.147 billion gold limit. The cap has gone up, as they note, by a billion times, which means that a player could essentially hold the current wealth total of the entire game several times over. This new cap should endure for a good long while.
It's not just a symbolic increase though, since you won't have to worry about getting enough Spirit Shards to carry around any gold you might have, if you’re a billionaire out there. Besides this, the other practical implications are that you will be able to buy or sell high value items completely through the Grand Exchange if you want (though you can still handle these transactions player to player if that's what you prefer). As far as trading and rare items, the team will be monitoring the mid price of items like Party Hats to see if a stable price emerges or if anything else that needs to be looked at arises.
Now, the bank and inventory won't change with this update. No space in there for 2.147 quintillion anything. You can carry around all of it with you, but of course, you'll have to do things strategically if you want to take some risks.
The Community Hitlist Is a list of issues or concerns from the community That the team surveyed the community about and received thousands of replies in return. This is the first group of issues addressed from this list, but it won't be the last.
In this patch, the Wilderness teleport restrictions for those opted out of PVP have been removed, this should give some space for quicker farming. You can charge God Books with multiple pages at once. Text in dialog boxes will scale to a larger font size when possible. Iron players also will be able to take advantage of certain effects from other players, as long as they have unlocked non-skill requirements for those abilities.
There's a lot more detail in the full patch notes, including other unlocks like the Beach event cosmetics that are now accessible to free-to-play accounts.
