RuneScape is previewing the Augmented RuneCrafting and Thieving update, which is coming on Monday, May 12th. Check out new perks related to Artisan and Gathering, new components, brand new items, and more to know in Jagex’ new preview.

There are eight new perks  to take advantage of, if you can collect the necessary components and assemble them into the new perks. The new components are “Offcuts” and “Manufactured”. Offcuts, uncommon materials you get from disassembling things like Hunter gear, furs, and flatpacks.  Manufactured components are a rare material and you get these from disassembling runecrafting talismans, tiaras, wood and or boxes, and more.

Once you have the components you need, you can assemble perks that benefit a range of skills, from mining to fishing, to runecrafting, smithing, woodcutting, archaelogy, and thieving. These are things like a + 1% chance to gain restored artifacts instead of damage artifacts on excavation for archeology, or a damage reduction when pickpocketing but you avoid being stunned. The preview has a full list of the new perks and  their effects, You can begin to prepare your best combinations.

Also coming are two new Skilling mainhand items: Runecrafting’s  Binding Rod and Thieving’s new Pickpocketing Bag. Each of these can be upgraded to offer additional improvements.

The next big Skilling update is set for June.
