A host of account security changes are arriving for RuneScape on mobile in their latest update.
For one, you won’t be required to enter in a Jagex authenticator code anymore if you’re already logged in via Google or Apple. The team cited redundancy as the factor,
“The reason for this is simple: when you sign in with these products your account is already being authenticated, so the Jagex authenticator is an unnecessary step. This change lets the mobile client handle third-party log-ins the same way the website does.”
The team is still working on improving account security, but here’s a start. Additionally, you’ll be able to win prizes from July 23 through July 27 during Cerberus Rush. Desperate Measure hits Gielinor next week which brings you a quest to head to Anachronia as you search for Kerapac. Be sure to be 75 in Combat and 60 in Archaeology and Agility.
Finally, live until August 10, you can check out the beach, previously known as the Lumbridge Crater. Here, a bunch of activities await as you celebrate the summer. Rewards include emotes and the Crustacea armor set.
