RuneScape is officially opening up a brand new Yak Track, while the Old School RuneScape team is talking the redone Tombs of Amascut rewards and player feedback on each.
The Yak Track: Path of the Creators II is the 10th ever and the longest they’ve ever had in RuneScape, and features 50 levels that you’ll have two months to complete. Should you be able to get ahead and complete this one, you’ll be able to net yourself some Elder Gods themed rewards, featuring Bik and Ful. There’s even a flexibility change this time around, as each of the 50 levels has a “skill and kill” option alongside the main task for that level, so you can figure out just how you want to progress to complete them. The skill and kill option will be slower but you will still be able to complete the level that way.
There are additional changes in the RuneScape patch today, including a new, temporary instanced version of the Senntisten Asylum. This will be in place for this month. The Asylum can hold six players, so you’ll be put into an instance if you’re the seventh person to enter. All of the rest will remain the same as expected, but the instance will be available to ease flow.
Meanwhile, the Old School RuneScape team has an update on the overdue Tombs of Amascut rewards. They unveiled the rewards list but then after the release of Nex, got the idea that their original loot plans needed an overhaul. The community then weighed in on the new ideas, so this is what the team is presenting now. Some of the original designs survived mostly intact, but others now have been reworked.
In the update this week, the team goes over each of the items and what they have changed in order to bring the reward items into a better state. You can also see what the overall community response to the proposals was, and what the OSRS team’s response is to each of them.
