RuneScape has a new feature that lets you transmute some boss weapon pieces into other pieces and an update on February, and the road to RuneFest.

While you generally get a piece you don’t already have when a boss weapon piece drops, there are some circumstances where duplicates can happen, as in Group Ironman (which arrived last fall). Your start order is randomized, so what drops might be something you already have. The new feature is placed within Divination, so it is sitting within this skill to make sense and be available to all players. While not everyone runs into the issue in GIM, it seems to happen often enough that the team decided to give this feature a go.

Most of us are probably wondering where the month of January went, but the Jagex team is looking forward towards February. They’re and letting us know some of what we can expect between now and the start of RuneFest. A new round of Double XP will begin on February 21st and run through March 2nd, overlapping with RuneFest, which takes place on March 1st-2nd.

On February 3rd, interface sharing is coming. The requested feature will let you share your interface setups and import others for your own use. Share with friends, guildmates, and even import shared interface settings from your favorite creators.

The Combat Mastery Achievements system is coming February 17th,  with a number of challenges to complete, adding some more incentives and structure to guide PvM content. The new system will be arriving on that date, but sometime before the launch, the team promises a new blog that will give a rundown of the system, the rewards, and what we can generally expect.
