RuneScape’s latest graphical update is here, this time polishing up the natural rocks, shores, and cold lands of Rellekka. As far as what’s next, there will be a special roadmap reveal happening next week.
A series of images show off more realistic-looking seas up in the frigid north, With updates like significantly detailed ships, rocks, and nuanced details. In one set we see the old rocky terrain with trees in the background set next to a more varied land, still rocky, but also a bit greener, and the trees look more layered instead of just in the distant background. If you've been around for the previous RuneScape graphical updates, this process should be very familiar to you by now.
The series of graphical updates have taken place across various sectors of Gielinor over the past few years. After all, this is a 23-year old game with a still vibrant community. So the Jagex team’s undertakings in these updates is to improve these familiar places while leaving them still familiar. Previously, they’ve spruced up several free to play areas, the Kingdom of Kandarin, and even for pets.
In addition to the new graphics, this week also continues the focus on community feedback with several more Community hit list fixes and updates to the in-game calendar. It’s now under the Adventures tab and shows upcoming events, streams, updates, and more.
One thing that is on there - the team has set up a special livestream next week to reveal what's coming over the next few months. The second half of 2024 will get an official roadmap reveal on March 14th on the official RuneScape Twitch channel at 14:00 game time.
