RuneScape is expanding once again, this time into a new comic book mini-series from Titan Comics. RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars will make its debut in October.
According to the official announcement, the comic mini-series will expand on one of the memorable sagas in Gielinor– the God Wars dungeon questline.
“This new comic book series will delve into the Temple of Lost Ancients, set during the catastrophic and iconic God Wars - where four warring armies fight for control of the Godsword, the only weapon capable of killing a deity. RUNESCAPE: UNTOLD TALES OF THE GOD WARS focuses on Maro [the hovering sentient skull], trapped in the center of the conflict, and who dreams of breaking free of his master’s clutches…”
We also get a look at the cover art and details on some of the writers and artists making this comic a reality. The first issue is written by Ryan O’ Sullivan and features art from Sid Kotian and Daniel Bayliss. Alternate version cover artists that will also feature on the debut issue will be Dave Barker, RuneScape’s own lead concept artist, along with Alan Quah, Ivan Shavrin, Sid Kotian, and Alex Moore.
The first issue will be out on October 9th and pre-orders will open up next month. If you purchase a physical edition of the comic, there will be a code inside redeemable for 200 Runecoins.
Titan Comics is part of the same company as Titan Books, the company that Jagex announced a deal with last fall for three new RuneScape novels. The first of those novels, the gift of RuneScape: The Gift of Guthix, was released earlier this year.
