RuneScape developer Jagex has shared a roadmap for how player support will be changing throughout 2025 based on a survey from 2024. While some of the changes have already been implemented in late 2024 and even in April 2025, more will roll out throughout the remainder of the year.
These changes will specifically impact Old School RuneScape and RuneScape. The results of the report were shared through a developer blog, which revealed that consumers have been largely unsatisfied with how Jagex has handled support for both titles. One of the largest sticking points was the option for live chat and directly interfacing with a person — which has plagued not just RuneScape, but other live service games and MMORPGs for more than a handful of years.
And as part of the change to player support for both Runescape titles, live chat will appear sometime in August 2025, along with improved ban appeals, secure account recovery, and better cheat detection. Additionally, Jagex aims to improve responses to player support in the more immediate future, with this scheduled to appear sometime in Spring 2025.
In April 2025, Jagex also outlined a content roadmap for RuneScape, which included fixes for Elder God War bosses drop rates, updates to Runecrafting and Thieving, and more.
