Following feedback after the release of Elder God Wars: Extinction, the first Grandmaster quest in years, the RuneScape team is planning some updates to XP and rewards. Meanwhile, Old School RuneScape updates today with the Easter event and some fixes and additions.
When it comes to Extinction, the new rewards will start dropping on April 25th. There will also be some changes to award more XP and keep you going for longer. There will also be additional prize drops for skilling. All of these changes should make the full experience of taking on this quest both more rewarding and more sustainable. One thing the team did note in the announcement of changes to rewards is that content in the next planned update for RuneScape will require having completed Extinction, so this is another incentive to better equip everyone to do just that.
So what’s changing? There will be an upgrade to the Pontifex Shadow Ring that will increase drop rates for all Elder God Wars bosses. There’s also the Passive Ring of Vigour Effect, where combining a Warped Gem and Ring of Vigour will let you keep the ring’s effect regardless of whether you’re wearing it. XP boosts will mean increased levels, like 175XP per 3 ticks up from 150, and much more XP storage at a skilling station. And speaking of skilling, those new rewards include things like Dinosaur Eggs, and Laboratory Relics from Dragonkin lab.
Over at Old School RuneScape, the Easter event will begin today, and you can find the Easter Bunny trying to deliver chocolate to the adventurers in the desert. Clearly a great idea because chocolate melts in heat. Because he’s a giant pink bunny, it’s scaring people off from helping him, so that’s where you come in. Potential rewards including to pieces of headgear.
The update also makes some tweaks to Guardians of the Rift, with new additional worlds coming Monday, removes the PVP World Rota, opening up all PVP worlds, and more.
