RuneScape and Old School RuneScape Bring the Capes, Music, and the Grind to Smite

If you thought that Smite needed some more grinding, the RuneScape and Smite collaboration has gone live.

With this collaboration, there are a number of classic RuneScape skins for Smite’s roster. The event also includes elements from Old School RuneScape. Jagex may have anticipated the surprise of this kind of unusual collaboration, but they’ve gone all in with the elements. Both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape are represented from the chat options, which let you use commands like wave to and glow, armor trimming, music from Old School RuneScape, in addition to cosmetic packs and more.

The special skins that have been revealed include Wise Old Man for Merlin, Gnome Child for Vamana, Old School’s Blessed Dragonhide for Neith, and King Black Dragon for Cerberus. These should make RuneScape players feel at home, in addition to the dozens of capes, and even the grind. Walk 15 million steps to unlock certain capes. PK 3600 players to unlock another. It’s RuneScape, where you can wear your achievements. It’s a tongue in cheek addition, seeing as a MOBA usually doesn’t exactly focus on grinding out your skills for strength and advantage, especially with the time-limited rounds in the genre.

Yet, if you’re looking for something new to shake up your Smite competition, and want it to be familiar, the RuneScape collaboration just might be the right fit.

If you are looking to get your hands on the new RuneScape skins, you can buy them or get your hands on a RuneScape chest. The other cosmetic items and changes will be available as a collection reward.

There's also a special offer from Smite, with a special bonus for new players (and returning ones that haven’t played at all in 2022), a free Premium Cyber Battle Pass. While these won't get you the RuneScape skins, they will let you get your hands on four different new skins.

For more, head over to Smite.
