Tomorrow, the RuneScape team will host a special roadmap reveal stream, but for now, there are some new additions to the game, a new book, and more changes this week.

The roadmap reveal stream will happen tomorrow at 4pm game time and will be streamed on Twitch. The team is set to announce just what is coming in the second half of the year, teasing future updates, continuations, and probably a few surprises. There will also be a Discord Stage this Friday, May 17th, where the team will discuss their recently-announced development plan to be more player-centric, what they’ve been working on, and their vision for the future.

Before then though, there are some new things to consider.

New additions in this week's update is the introduction of High Contrast mode and Entity Highlight mode. Both of these are accessibility features, but like most accessibility features, they can help a wide range of people. High Contrast mode Will change colors in the game world and highlight  things that you can interact with, including NPCs, other players, objects, and enemies. All the object highlight colors are customizable, so you can make the world highlights your own in whatever way works best for you. You can toggle this on under the new accessibility options menu, or right click on the world map for a quick toggle.

Entity Highlight mode is similar, but different, as it adds a highlight around things you can interact with but not change the overall game world colors. These can be borders or silhouettes and the colors are customizable here too.

Also new is the next RuneScape novel, The Gift of Guthix. First announced last fall, the first of three new RuneScape novels from Titan Books is coming out tomorrow. The official description sets the stage: “An epic tale of the origin of magic, the plight of civil war, and the crushing defeat of the Fremennik Great Invasion”.

There are a few other items of note this week, including a new Double XP opportunity from May 17-27th, fixes for Requiem for a Dragon, and a Master Quest Cape achievement that requires Requiem for a Dragon.
