After reports circulated by Bloomberg last night, Rockstar Games has officially announced it will be finally showing the first trailer of the next Grand Theft Auto to fans next month.
Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reported last night that Rockstar would be showcasing the first trailer of the next Grand Theft Auto game in December, which Rockstar themselves have now confirmed this morning. In a post to the Rockstar Newswire, the company's President Sam Houser released a short message stating that the long-awaited trailer would be arriving in "early December."
Given that The Game Awards are in early December, it stands to reason we might be seeing the trailer as part of Geoff Keighley's World Premiere fest that typically accompanies the awards.
"In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution. We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto."
What the next Grand Theft Auto, normally known colloquially as Grand Theft Auto VI, will look like remains to be seen. Hopefully the trailer we see will showcase more than just the new setting, but give an idea as to when the next entry in the series will be releasing, especially as Grand Theft Auto V and its online mode both turned 10 years old this year.
