The Grand Theft Auto Online subscription service, known as GTA+ and is used for perks such as exclusive cars, in-game currency monthly bonuses and more, has increased in price.
Previously, the price for the Grand Theft Auto Online subscription cost players $5.99, but it was revealed by RockstarIntel that the new listed price is $7.99. This is the first increase that the game has seen since it first launched two years ago, and this optional fee was and is already a controversial topic for players.
A Reddit thread brings a plethora of GTA players to one place to discuss the new changes, most of which are not very happy with the increase, and wonder if that also means more exclusive content since the price was raised. One commenter states,
“The increase means more exclusive contents and cross progression for players, right?
…Right!?”
More commenters wonder who is even still paying for that option, and some stating that though they considered the online subscription before, the price hike has changed their mind.
The $2 price increase begins today for new members, but existing GTA+ members won't be charged the new price until June 11th, so those who stick with the service in May will still get the previous price.
In other Grand Theft Auto Online news, there is a new Executive Bonus Update that brings more money and more rewards than ever before. If you want to score big bucks, this is the time to do it with the higher bounties and exclusive missions.
