Riot’s new competitive shooter is called Valorant and it arrives Summer 2020.
Valorant is a 5v5 competitive shooter boasting, “128-tick servers, at least 30 frames per second on most min-spec computers (even dating back a decade), 60 to 144 FPS on modern gaming rigs, a global spread of datacenters aimed at <35ms for players in major cities around the world, a netcode we’ve been obsessing over for years, and a commitment to anti-cheat from day one.”
Yeah, that’s quite a lot of buzzwords. As far as gameplay, Riot touts guns and a unique set of abilities for everyone. Visually, it’s got that Team Fortress-y, Overwatch-y look. GameInformer has a breakdown of all the heroes of Valorant and their respective abilities. And according to PC Gamer, it will be free to play.
