Riot Games to Kick Off New League of Legends Seasonal Model in 2025

Riot Games has previewed the upcoming 2025 season for League of Legends and there’s plenty for players to be excited about.

Beginning with Season 2025, Riot will kick off a new seasonal model that breaks seasons down into three parts. These parts will now focus on a specific region of Runeterra, such as Ionia, Shurima, etc., and will each feature a new Champion from its respective region, updates to existing Champions from the region, and even flavorful updates to the in game map itself.

Speaking of the map, League is getting a new epic monster in Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin. This monster will spawn in at the 20 minute mark and its location (either the bottom or top of the map) depends on which side received the most Champion damage and kills. It can appear in either Ruinous or Voracious forms, depending on how much bloodshed occurred. The Ruinous form will leave a grove of blood petals after its been killed that grant a team exp boost and a permanent and stacking Adaptive Force buff. The Voracious form will appear when there hasn’t been enough bloodshed in the match and rewards players with a Guardian Angel type of rebirth buff that is consumed on use.
