Early Access for Reign of Guilds has begun after a series of delays. The Atlant Games team confirmed that Early Access would begin on April 4th at 11am GMT.
Back in March, they delayed their planned Early Access release date again, apologizing to the community and confirming they had some issues with Steam. At that point, they promised a date announcement once everything had been cleared up. Yesterday, in a succinct blog post on the Reign of Guilds Steam page, titled “11:00 (GMT+0) - Let’s go!” they confirmed that the start date was indeed in the title.
Now, the journey can begin for those who have been waiting to step into the new world of Dwarrhan and unite with friends to tackle the challenges of the MMORPG, which emphasizes group play and player interaction..
With the launch confirmation Atlant announced that the client would become available an hour before start time and any early pre-order purchases on the website would become available later after the Early Access period had begun and those who were owed items activated them in their accounts.
While the release is now live, the team is straightforward about how things are. They may have worked out the issues that prevented the earlier launch, but “for our studio, this release is an enormous step, and as it usually is, we aren’t ready for it as we’d like to be”, they added. Of course, being an Early Access release, there are still potential issues, but the team seems at least glad to be getting this step behind them. Over the last month, they dedicated their work to improving the game ahead of release, through fixes, optimization efforts and making sure the servers were ready.
