Redfall’s final update, game update 4, is now available. The update overhauls the game’s Neighborhood and Nest systems and adds new features, including offline mode, single player pause functionality, Frame Generation technology via NVIDIA’s DLSS, and more.

Players will now earn “Community Standing” as they complete Safehouse missions, rescue civilians, or take out an Underboss. Support currency can be used to unlock new rewards from the Safehouse Skill Tree. The update adds six ranks to the Community Standing reputation track, offering 39 rewards that grant the player permanent buffs. These buffs scale in power as players work their way up the skill tree.

Elder Nests have been added with the Nest revamp. These are Boss focused Nests that will task players will taking out “dangerously modified” special Vampires. Players who are successful in destroying an Elder Nest will be granted a temporary buff called “Heart Shard.”

The update was unveiled shortly after Microsoft announced that it would be shutting down several studios, including Redfall developer Arkane Austin. Redfall servers will remain online for the foreseeable future, though the addition of an offline mode is sure to be reassuring to players concerned Microsoft might pull the plug on game servers down the line.
