The latest Nvidia drivers are out featuring optimizations for Red Dead Redemption 2, which releases tomorrow on PC.
Nvidia states that Red Dead Redemption 2 features nearly 40 graphics options for PC gamers to tweak. Additionally, Nvidia recommends the following GPUs for the corresponding resolutions targeting 60fps.
- 1080p, High Preset, RTX 2060
- 1440, High Preset, RTX 2070 Super
- 4K, Medium-High, RTX 2080 Ti
It should be noted here that the 2080 Ti, according to Nvidia, is still not enough to max out the game at 4K and achieve 60fps,
“At 3840x2160, only the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti can deliver a high-fidelity 60 FPS experience, giving gamers a stunning level of cinematic detail in Red Dead Redemption 2’s wilderness, and in Saint Denis, the game’s vibrant city. To hit this mark, we tuned settings to a mix of Medium and High, as used at a recent PC version press event, where PC Gamer, PCGamesN, GamesRadar, IGN, Polygon and VG247 were wowed by the amazingly detailed experience.”
If you want to hit 4K60 at higher settings, Nvidia recommends utilizing their upscaling to upscale gameplay to 4K from a lower resolution like 3264x1836 or 2880x1620.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on PC tomorrow, November 5. We will have a PC review and coverage over the next few weeks.
