Red 5 Hires New VP of Engineering

Red 5 Studios has announced that they have brought on Michael Weingartner as their new Vice President of Engineering.

Aliso Viejo, CA and Shanghai - March 19, 2008 - Michael Weingartner has joined the independent massively multiplayer online developer Red 5 Studios as Vice President of Engineering, bringing with him years of experience building and improving leading server technologies. Before joining the former World of Warcraft team leads who founded Red 5, Michael led the development of key enterprise server solutions at Oracle as their Vice President of Server Technology. At Red 5 Studios he expects to break new ground in applying his experience with server systems to a brand new, innovative MMO.

"Our new programming talent comes from diverse backgrounds, bringing a wealth of tech experience to the Red 5 tribe," said Mark Kern, president and CEO of Red 5 Studios. "The team is almost complete, and every member has the passion to create something amazing - great games come from great collaboration, and the potential is thrilling."
