Ravendawn’s first big post-launch patch is here, with a series of balance changes and fixes, and efforts to fix the botting and cheating issues.
Before even addressing balance or fixes, the team outlined the recent efforts to combat cheaters front and center in the update blog and notes. They have been banning thousands of players in the two weeks since launch, many for using any sort of cheats. In addition to partnering with a bot detection company, they reiterated a commitment to battling the issue.
“We feel it is important to make an announcement on this so players understand we have a 0 strike policy. We do not apply "slap on the wrist" 3 day bans for cheating.”
As for the patch contents, balance is the name of the game, and they even acknowledge that some of the changes might break some people’s builds. Yet, it’s also part of what running an MMORPG means. They’re keeping an eye on things and of course welcome community feedback after these changes.
One of Ravendawn’s helpful features in these update blogs are little images showing what skills are being buffed, nerfed, or merely adjusted in some way. Eight skills across six professions get buffed, while nine skills across six professions got nerfs. Wizardry gets Flame Tornado adjusted to reduce its damage but also lower its cooldown.
Balance changes also came for RavenCards, with a few nerfs. Tradepacks have been reset to their average 100% value since they’re working to fix a wide-scale imbalance with them.
There were also a few fixes, correcting a few items’ making it impossible to use potions while on a ship, and making kill credits add up properly.
