In Ravendawn’s latest preview of the upcoming major update, Tavernlight Games has revealed the Dueling System and Plunder Channel.
The major update was originally announced as a PvP update but they later changed that to include both PvP and PvE, and this latest round of previews focuses on the PvP angle.
If you challenge or accept a challenge for a one-on-one duel, you won't have to worry about any sort of penalties or any death consequences. This is simply a battle for bragging rights and to see who can best the other. In order to challenge someone to a duel, you have to be fully healed and not in a safe zone or in combat. If the person accepts the challenge, there will be a countdown, a banner on the ground, and it will be time to fight.
Everywhere on the map is open for dueling except for the Safe Zones. You can even have this challenge in an otherwise peaceful region. There will be stat tracking, however, including wins and losses, so you can check your progress at any time and decide to improve if that's what you're looking for.
You can also be challenged to a duel while you're in a party, and you’ll get to decide whether this is an all-in 2v2 duel or if it will be 1v1. Once all members on a side are defeated, the duel is over. If you take damage from other sources, like mobs, the fight will be halted.
The Plunder Channel, this week’s other reveal, is a high risk, high reward zone that you can enter by paying a deposit in silver. The area is in a constant state of war, so it’s dangerous, but you’ll get a slew of bonuses just for entering. Once you're in there, nowhere is safe, but you can start plundering silver as a bouncy from enemies within. If you die in the zone, you'll drop a chest containing the amount of silver that you deposited that others can then plunder from you. If you survive, however, you can collect a number of resources and more that could offer you a whole lot of profit.
No word on when the update will come, but the team plans weekly reveals until then.
