The latest Overwatch developer update discusses queue times, communication wheel, and more.
The update was provided by Jeff (from the Overwatch team) who actually presented the entire update from his house via a phone taped to a box. He also started by thanking the essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Regarding the game, communication wheel customization may be on the way. You’ll now be able to set up the wheel with a list of commands which you want. All these lines are voice recorded by the characters, so have at it customizing your wheel.
Additionally, queues are going to be addressed. More specifically, they want to address what happens when a player drops, and another player is waiting in line. Now, that player in waiting won’t be shoved down to the bottom of the queue. You’ll maintain your position in line. Do not, this is specific to competitive matches.
The workshop is set to get updated as well. Jeff cites that most people don’t do much workshop scripting. However, the team is working with the scripters to incorporate more functionality there. A full list of updates to the workshop will be provided in the future.
