Here’s a quick PSA for us all. Daybreak will undergo a 24 hour extended downtime for most games today due to their monthly patch and maintenance. Here are the details for you to prepare just in case.
Several games will experience this extended downtime including EverQuest, EverQuest II, PlanetSide 2, and H1Z1. In fact, we had previously reported on this downtime when it was first announced a few days ago. The downtime is apparently related to a large server migration which will impact all game services.
[ALERT] On 4/20 at 12 AM PDT we will be starting a 36 hour maintenance period on some of our internal systems. We have a large migration of our backend which will impact all game services. During this timeframe all servers will be shut down until the work is concluded.

However, it looks like Dungeons & Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings Online will not be affected by this server migration. Some games will actually include a larger downtime window. These games include EverQuest meant to experience 36 hours of downtime due to patching. Meanwhile, EQ2, H1Z1 and PlanetSide 2 will only experience 24 hours of downtime.
Downtime started at midnight PST early this morning, but with this downtime having been announced last week, hopefully you’ve planned ahead accordingly for today. This advance notice time is possibly a result of what happened a few weeks ago. Earlier this month, the Daybreak game servers went down for maintenance which seemed pretty sudden and annoyed some gamers.
If these are games you’re currently playing, just sit tight. Hopefully, migration and patching go smoothly so we’re all back to playing our favorite games soon and on schedule.
