A report over at Insider Gaming details requirements for developers to label their games ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced.’' This is not the actual title of the label, but one Insider Gaming has given in lieu of its internal ‘Trinity Enhanced’ title. There’s precedent for the term ‘Enhanced’ as Sony used this label to denote games that took advantage of the PlayStation 4 Pro’s beefier hardware.
The documents received by Insider Gaming outline that requirements for developers include their games needing to have a PS5 Pro graphics mode that offers PSSR 4K upscaling, a locked 60FPS framerate, and ray-tracing features.
Titles may also receive the ‘Enhanced’ label if they offer increased target resolution or framerates for titles that run at fixed or variable resolutions or fixed framerates on the standard PS5.
The report notes that the increased performance and fidelity is due to the PlayStation 5 Pro’s 28% faster RAM and a GPU that’s 67% larger (and 45% faster) than the PlayStation 5. According to Insider Gaming, Sony claims the PS5 Pro will be 45% faster than the standard console and offer twice the rendering speed.
