One of the MMORPG.com community members let us in on the fact that ProjectPlay.ca will be running an event to raise funds to support several charitable organizations. The event will be taking place on September 22nd. Lend your support to this worthy cause -and- to one of our own community members who will be taking part!

Project Play began as a wild, pie in the sky idea over chicken wings. Could we create an event that would bring together so many of London’s fan communities under one roof? But more importantly, could we build that event as a fundraiser, providing play opportunities to children and families being supported by outstanding local organizations?

The answer to both questions is yes, and the result is Project Play.

With the enthusiastic support locally and beyond, last year’s event brought out more than 400 players and raised over $5000 for gaming bundles donated to Merrymount Family Support and Crisis Centre, the Women’s Rural Resource Centre of Strathroy and Area and Women’s Community House. Without a doubt, the lives of children have been improved and lightened thanks to Project Play. And that’s the biggest reason we’re excited to be back for year number two.

As we gear up for the second annual Project Play, Southwestern Ontario’s biggest hands-on play event, we are excited to one again welcome the makes and players of video, card, tabletop and board games, anime fans, building block enthusiasts, cosplayers, crafters, artists and so much more.

We hope you’ll join us on Sunday, September 22 for the second annual Project Play to share what you love, to discover new ways to play, and more importantly, to help make a positive impact on the lives of children in Southwestern Ontario.

We’ll play today, so they can play tomorrow.
