Project: Gorgon has had quite a run since last fall, when the developers originally said the project had run out of cash, but the team would continue development in some way. Now, after several updates since those announcements, there’s a new price for the Steam Early Access version and more updates on the way.
The classic-inspired MMORPG has a smaller, but dedicated, community, and now the Early Access price can perhaps entice some more on board. Unity is at the heart of the update, and the game also emphasizes player choice and Community content. Development does continue, with the latest updates this spring adding a new map, overhauling and refining maps in general, adjustments to the knife, updates to Legacy equipment, and a new Hardcore Living skill. This last one added some significant benefits, and you can keep them even if you stop being Hardcore later.
With the new Steam Early Access price now $19.99, the team is also adding some new options. The first is new character slot options. While one slot is standard, there’s a new purchase unlock for three character slots to give you some more flexibility to try out more of what Project Gorgon has to offer. If you bought access to the game before these new changes, you’ll get the three character slot unlock pack for free. There's an alternate option where if you are a subscriber to the VIP membership, you'll get to use four extra character slots as long as your membership is active.
Project: Gorgon continues development, buoyed by the community, blending classic MMORPG mechanics with newer options , humor, and an emphasis on player choices. More on the new update, pricing, and options is all on the game’s Steam page.
