INSANE Game Studio, the developers behind sandbox MMORPG Profane has hit their discord with a series of shorts aimed at appeasing the community with reassurance about their art direction. Over the past few weeks, the team has let their art team drop some of their progress, reminding players that the game is still progressing, and that the assets they are currently using are more or less still a work in progress.
If you’ve missed a few updates on Profane in our weekly Indie MMO Spotlight articles, then you probably haven’t seen the recent shorts showing off the art direction of this survival sandbox MMORPG. Having been in development for more than 9 years at this point, the team is still building towards an Alpha version of the game, with several community tests having already taken place this year.

In the most recent videos presented via Discord, the head of art Vishmura explained that the art that is currently in the game is still mostly placeholder, and that the team is working on expanding and fine tuning their game assets. He states that there will be several additional iterations of the art ahead of launch.
Hey, community! We're joining this throwback-Thursday with some memories from our Pre-Alpha phase. It's a good reminder of everything we were able to achieve back then, and we can't wait to bring it back to you in futures tests. pic.twitter.com/WQtVzJP0cZ

Currently, there isn’t a launch window, but more tests will be on the way throughout the remainder of the year. If you’re interested in jumping into the next test, the best course of action would be to join Profane’s Discord server, and watch the announcements channel, where testing sessions will require an RSVP during the testing window for you to join.
