A professional League of Legends player, Kirill "Likkrit" Malofeyev, has retired after being banned by Riot Games for suggesting that teams in CiS nations are not "profitable" for players. His comments were made during a recent live stream and included accusations of unpaid salaries by Albus NoX and the inability for teams to go to court for enforcement due to contracts not being recognized as legal, according to Kotaku. Court costs would exceed missing salaries, according to Malofeyev.
League of Legends developer, Riot Games, banned Malofeyev as a result of these comments made via live stream recently and the company stated, "In accordance with regulation 10.2.5 of the Rules, team members should not make or support any statements or actions that are intended to harm Riot Games." Statements are considered seen as discrediting the business reputation of Riot Games and are intended to "offend" the CiS League of Legends community.
After the ban, Likkrit announced his retirement via the VKontakt social network and urged other players to boycott League as a result of Riot's decision.
