Tower of Fantasy's next big update, Gesthos Sector, is a big one. Continuing from the last story chapters, this time, the Cataclysm is on the verge of arrival. A new trailer and showcase video give us a peek at the Aesperia that was before the Omnium Disaster.
The update clearly has its roots in the cyberpunk and sci-fi inspirations behind Tower of Fantasy, and that’s just the beginning. If you’re caught up, then you know that Shirli and the simulacrum Nemesis are connected, and the official video description also hints at where we’re going.
“It's a virtual world constructed by Gesthos replicates Aida in the year 2664, an extraordinary year that every citizen of Aida remembers vividly. Now, it's on the eve of the Cataclysm. What we will face and can we save Shirli?”
Not only is there a new map, there are many new zones to explore, and the team is giving us even more peeks at those new areas. The summery Astra Coast, the technologically advanced Astra Border, the mysteries of Odin’s Tavern, the scenery of Linglong Industrial Park, Rocken Park, and even the luxurious Dandelion Coast, and Astra Resort. We get a little taste of these, and some of what you might find in these sectors, in another new video.
There will be lots to come in the update, including new activities, those new areas to explore, and some new mysteries to uncover. The team is giving us a peek at some of what to expect, but they are preserving a good amount of mystery surrounding the story, which seems to be ushering in a very different era for Tower of Fantasy.
Speaking of the Tower itself, it appears in the update trailer and there have been problems since it was built. When the update is out on May 28th, we’ll start to see just how the story covers and touches on all of these elements and where Hotta Studio is going with the story and overall direction.
