The Elder Scrolls Online’s Scribes of Fate DLC will be out soon on PC/Mac and ZeniMax has a new preview of Scrivener’s Hall, one of the two new dungeons.
Scrivener’s Hall is, once again, taking us into Morrowind, as part of the ongoing Shadow Over Morrowind adventure. With the secrets you might expect in such a place, and a splash of intrigue, the main challenge here includes helping to protect and reclaim a Daedric artifact, stopping a usurper from upending the Scribes of Mora, and more.
The Scribes of Mora have worked under the Lord of Knowledge, Hermaeus Mora, working in secret. Their work has gone on for some time, under a veil of secrecy. Their leader, Keshargo, was recently forced out by another, Valinna, who has plans to take the organization in another direction entirely. Something more militant and dangerous.
ESO’s Encounters Lead, Mike Finnigan, describes the conflict this way: “Their primary goal was seeking information and gathering knowledge as befits followers of Hermaeus Mora. However, Valinna's goal is to transform the Scribes into a militant force of devout zealots”.
With that in mind, Valinna is missing an important artifact, and Keshargo knows where it is. So this is where you come in, since he’s not telling and Valinna is determined to find it to complete her plans. You’ll have to help Keshargo find and retrieve the artifact, the Itinerant Staff, which is a symbol of the Scribes, and can instantly transport whoever is wielding it to Scrivener’s Hall.
Get through all of this, slay the bosses and monsters, and protect the Scribes from their new leader, and help Keshargo restore order and purpose to the organization.
Things will get very different fast, as the dungeon will take you between realms through the Daedric planes.
Finnigan sets up some more details of the encounters you’ll face, since the Scribes are a powerful force. Expect arcanists, including monsters using Arcanist abilities. There are even entirely new things waiting for you down in the dungeon.
“Ozezan the Inferno is worth highlighting as we have not used an Infernium in a dungeon before. Monster placement is key in this battle, and it will test players’ positioning to ensure the boss doesn’t fill the entire space with lava,” he says.
Of course, there will be lots of rewards, including new dungeon item sets, and a new monster set.
Scribes of Fate will be out on March 13th on PC/Mac and March 28th on console. Read the full preview over at The Elder Scrolls Online.
