The Lucent Citadel and Mirrormoor Incursions are two of the features coming to The Elder Scrolls Online in Gold Road. The first is a new 12-player Trial, while the Mirrormoor Incursions are the newest world event.

Things are not right in the West Weald, and this is just the beginning of what will unfold in Gold Road. Ithelia, the Forgotten Prince returns (after the cliffhanger that was in Scions of Ithelia) and the Daedric Prince and her followers are causing some major disruptions. This is, of course, where you come in.

The Lucent Citadel used to be a quiet place, but with Ithelia’s return, the Daedric vault’s residents are awakening. They and others attracted by the new happenings, are after something called the Arcane Knot, for their various agendas. Keshargo, who you may remember from Scrivener’s Hall, is one of those who has been sent to get the Knot, and you have a chance to help him this time too.

To try and stop Xoryn from getting the Know, you’ll encounter a number of monsters and magic, since this is a Daedric vault after all, like awakened Mirrormoor creatures, Xoryn’s allies, and four bosses. While there are combat challenges, there are others that involve everything from jumping to falling. Yes, falling.

ZeniMax is also teasing that the final encounter, and the Arcane Knot, are unlike anything the ESO team has done. “The constant that runs throughout the trial is the presence of light magic and dark magic, and learning how the two clash is important,” according to Shane Slama, senior combat designer.

As for the other new world event, those Mirrormoor creatures are going to be an issue here too. You need to stop three elite Valkynaz (which are randomly chosen from six options each time the event happens). They are performing a ritual that will bring about a Mirrormoor champion. Champion will also be randomly  chosen from three options every time.

If the shifting circumstances weren’t enough, this isn't a straightforward battle. You'll have to  essentially hunt in the wilderness to stop Daedric ritualists, and slay some monsters that have made their way over from the Daedric realm into the West Weald.

Manage to go through all of these challenges and make it out on the other side, and there are new rewards, including progress towards the Saint Alessia Patron deck, new achievements, new skill styles, and item sets.
