The Druids are going to take center stage in The Elder Scrolls Online’s Firesong DLC, which hits PC and Mac next week, and the latest preview from the team is in the form of a Q&A ‘answered’ by Druid Laurel of the Stonelore.

“The True Way is a promise we've made to the groves, to the seas, to the sky. It's not always an easy one to keep. Our devotion has been endangered more times than we can count. But we're still here, quietly tending to the Green in ways set down by our forebearers,” reads part of the intro, setting the stage for the continuation and wrap up of this year’s Legacy of the Bretons story.

The Druids and the new island of Galen will be central to Firesong, and the first question in the preview is about the name Galen, since the Druids called themselves “of Galen” before they had ever arrived there. Her answers, after conceding that she doesn’t know the actual tale of where the name comes from, offers a few stories that could explain some of the beliefs out there, from Galen being the name of a beloved spirit, a sacred island, or something else.

It seems like we’re going to learn a lot about the island and its history, and perhaps even solve that mystery too. Or if not, there’s still much to discover.

The rest of the preview covers druidism in Tamriel as a whole, and questions about druid shapeshifting, as well as future sight, and even a joke thrown in. The structure of this dev blog invites us to try reading between the lines and to also draw some of our own conclusions as to what may or may not be true.

Firesong will be out November 1st on PC and Mac and on consoles November 15th.
