Premium Currency to be Introduced in Early 2018

The latest Founders' Update has been published on the Crowfall site to provide folks with a bit more information about the forthcoming introduction of the game's premium currency. Called "Crowns", the currency will be available starting at $5 for 500 Crowns and discounts for larger purchases. These funds can be used in the in-game shop, with no item costing over $200. All items currently at the $200+ mark will be retired at the end of 2017.

In addition to personal Crown purchases, a new "guild wallet" function will be added to allow players to directly purchase and contribute Crowns to their guilds. Over the course of time leading up to the launch of beta, specials will be held to fill up the coffers. For instance, in the "Earliest Bird Guild Reward" program, guilds that recruit new or existing backers prior to the start of beta testing will receive 1,000 Crowns per backer with individual players also receiving a 10% on their next purchase. This promotion will run between now and the launch of beta testing.

In the Early Bird Guild Rewards event, guilds recruiting new or existing backers prior to beta testing will receive 500 Crowns per backer, though funds will not be added until "soft launch". Players will also receive a 5% discount on a future purchase. This will run between the launch of beta testing and the start of soft launch.
