Square Enix has released the preliminary patch notes for Patch 6.3, Gods Revel, Lands Tremble, which will be out on January 10th for Final Fantasy XIV.
There's a lot in this update, starting with nine new main scenario quests. There’s also a new area open, as you can dive and swim in upper La Noscea. You'll have to meet some sort of conditions in order to unlock diving, but that will be waiting for you.
In addition to the main scenario questsn there are also side quests. Chronicles of a New Era, Tales of Newfound Adventure, and Tataru's Grand Endeavor will all continue in 6.3. If you haven't run out of things to do after completing all of that, there are also new custom deliveries to take on. And there are also new chapters added for New Game+. Treasure Hunt even gets a new instance, The Shifting Gymnasion Agonon.
There will be a brand new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, and a new alliance raid dungeon, Euphrosyne. There’s also a new Trial.
There are a few helpful changes, including a map icon for the entrance to certain duties, and a quest icon and a path to show you how to get to some less clear quest locations. The first round of quests that this will apply to are from 6.1 through 6.3, with older quests getting this support later.
The next housing lottery is on January 15th, with Wards 25-30 being added to all residential districts in this patch. The lottery system should work as last time with a couple of tweaks, Apartments have also been added to all Wards and unrestricted plots are added to housing classifications.
The patch will also bring several of the first additions and changes to Island Sanctuary. Expect new ranks, new produce, new gathering points and items, and of course, new animals.
There's lots more and you can find out more details by reading the preliminary patch notes over at Final Fantasy XIV.
