North American Pokemon Go players are invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lyndon Johnson's National Trails and Wild & Scenic Rivers acts. During the event, players are encouraged to explore "as many rivers and trails as possible". The goal is to have players travel as many of the more than 12,000 miles of protected riverways in the United States.

Players who take part can earn a special patch and a handwritten note from Niantic by either sending in a postcard about their adventures or by publishing an Instagram post and tagging the company with #FindYourWay. In addition, for every digital or virtual postcard Niantic receives, the company will donate $5 to the National Park Foundation.

What is the relationship between Niantic and the National Park Foundation?

Niantic has partnered with the National Park Foundation, the official national charitable partner of the National Park Service, to host a series of small group events for our players in America’s national parks, inviting gamers to meet up, complete tasks, and explore public lands.

What is the inspiration for this campaign?

Niantic and the National Park Foundation are exploring innovative ways to inspire people to connect with the national parks community using technology. We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System and Wild & Scenic Rivers by encouraging everyone to visit a river or trail no matter where they are, and share their experience.
