The overarching story for the 21st expansion for Everquest 2, titled Scars of Destruction, has been unveiled in the latest Producer’s Letter. First previewed at Fippy Fest, in this expansion, it seems players are diving back towards dark, dangerous forces to stop further destruction throughout the realm.
Dangerous forces have been stirring, eliciting violence and stoking fierce rivalries across Norrath for months,” the Letter reads. “Now, a band of concerned healers and followers of Quellious are closing in on the devious architect. Norrathians, journey to the remnants of Odus' coastline, scarred by Ulteran magic, and then beyond the unnatural barrier surrounding Western Wastes, on your quest into the vast Dragon Necropolis to upend the machinations of a cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous foe!”
Players are asked to “heed the call of the Open Hand” to wander into the Sodden Archipelago and gather the tools to take down the unnatural barrier into the Western Wastes, “raked” by Veeshan’s claw and inhabited generations later by her children, to get ahead of an “unnatural army intent on acquiring an arcane item of destructive power from the Dragon Necropolis!”
For those excited for the new EQ2 expansion, the beta and pre-orders for the Scars of Destruction expansion go live on October 1 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
The Producer’s Letter also goes over some of the prior releases and some that are coming up, including Year of Darkpaw drops, Nights of the Dead and Frostfell events, and more.
