Another extraction shooter has entered the fray—or dropped on the map, really. Exoborne is the latest extraction shooter to start unveiling itself, and it currently has a playtest going through the weekend.
Exoborne is set in a world where “deadly forces of nature” have wreaked havoc on society and change the conditions of the map in real time. Survivors don Exo-rigs, which are essentially decked-out armor suits that make you look like a mini mecha suit, and traverse in “a world turned upside down with unprecedented verticality.”
Players can alter their Exo-rigs with mods to customize loadouts, and the game’s media suggests team synergy between Exo-rigs as well. Plus, the press release suggests that there’s more narrative to come, likely suggesting progression where a map changes over time.
The playtest is running from now until February 17 at 5:00 a.m. PST. Players who are interested in joining the playtest can request such by visiting Exoborne’s Steam page. It’s only a “request” for now, but since they’re advertising it still, it sounds like it’s quite possible.
To show off the gameplay ahead of the playtest, Sharkmob’s Executive Producer Brynley Gibson released a gameplay walkthrough that shows off a few real-time gameplay scenarios.
