PlayStation is back today (September 24) with updates on over twenty different PS5 and PS VR2 games.
The show will be taking place at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET/12 AM CEST and 11 PM BST. There’s currently no real indication as to what will show up at the showcase, though it’s worth noting that two separate remasters have been reported on over the last month, both Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone.
What’ll be extremely interesting is whether or not Sony sticks to their already-stated strategy of launching multiple live-service games over the next two years. With the recent closure of Concord, it’s unclear if this strategy has changed at all.
Curiously, the blog post also promises updates on upcoming PSVR 2 titles, a platform that is reportedly having sales issues. Per a March report, Sony completely halted all PSVR 2 production, with an analyst telling Bloomberg that:
“The high price of VR hardware acts as the main hurdle for its expansion. Currently, there are limited games that support VR devices, and that will also lead to a lack of motivation for players to purchase VR hardware. The limited content also has a reason - the development cost for VR games is substantially higher than normal titles.”
