Google has published a new blog that announces Project Stream that will allow players to stream games through Chrome. "The idea of streaming such graphically-rich content that requires near-instant interaction between the game controller and the graphics on the screen poses a number of challenges. When streaming TV or movies, consumers are comfortable with a few seconds of buffering at the start, but streaming high-quality games requires latency measured in milliseconds with no degradation".

The first game to be playable via Project Stream is Assassin's Creed Odyssey starting October 5th with a small number of players trying out the game at no charge while involved in the testing process.

At the moment, Project Stream is inviting users to apply on the site to be included. The team is asking for home users with connections of 25Mb / second and who are at least 17 living in the US.
