If you need New Year's Eve plans, maybe a virtual Times Square Fortnite Island is worth your time.
The event is unofficial and unrelated to Epic. It has been put on through a partnership between One Times Square, the location of the famous ball drop, in collaboration with Behaviour Interactive. It’s on a Fortnite island where Behaviour made a reproduction of Times Square, with fireworks and a virtual ball drop happening tonight at midnight ET to ring in 2025.
To get there, start with the Island Code: 7054-0632-3368. Once you're in, if you want to play some games, there's OTS Taxi Race, where you hop in a New York taxi to race around, OTS Crystal Parkour, for those who want to reach the heights to celebrate, and OTW Prop Night Party, if you want the backdrop of your hunt to be Times Square.
Lots of New Yorkers aren’t going near Times Square tonight, so even we might jump into Fortnite to take part in this one. On the event site, there are a number of streams, including a live Times Square cam, shots of other places in New York, a camera on the One Times Square ball, which you can watch drop at midnight there, and some live show streams from New York and the world.
